Why This Copywriter?
With over 15 years experience in customer service and outside sales I know how to communicate information that converts prospects into customers. Most of my expertise lies in the field of wine and specialty food and beverages.
The majority of my sales experience has been in outside sales of fine wines to restaurants and retailers. To be successful requires selling verbally and in writing. Throughout my career I have written effective copy as a part of the sales process and in support of current customers. I strive for a conversational tone, which makes your business communications work like face to face selling. I have also written training materials for sales and customer service.
I spent 3 years with Beverages & more!, a wine, beer, spirits, and gourmet food retailer. My jobs included managing operations, as well as recruiting and training employees. I have also worked in book retailing and most recently in B2B sales in the wine industry, selling packaging supplies to wineries.
I’ve got a BA in History from the University of California at San Diego. And a Level 1 certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. And I have completed the AWAI copywriting course. I’m an avid gardener, and a certified State of Oregon Master Gardener. My primary interest is organic vegetable gardening. But I am expanding my appreciation for ornamental plants as well. I document my botanical obsessions and experiences on my blog, Backyard Farm.
Personal finance and investing are also among my interests. I have experience trading stocks, options and mutual funds, so I can personally identify with, and speak to, these markets. I also love to knit, cook, cycle, and play the guitar, but that’s probably more than you wanted to know.
